Welcome to our website of Mauja Bijayapur Samaj (MBS) UK. Mauja Bijayapur Samaj UK is a Samaj (community) of Nepalese who originally came to the UK from former Mauja VDC and Bijayapur (panch-thar gaun) of Kaski district, Nepal and are currently residing in the UK. The Samaj was established on 26 January 2008 with an aim to help each other out in times of genuine hardship and distress and preserve our cultural heritages over in the UK. The Samaj primarily aims to maintain a link within its members and cheli-beties in the UK and with our ancestral homes back in Nepal. The Samaj also aims to support our village communities in Nepal on the basis of members’ approval as it finds necessary.

All the members of the samaj are originally from the following 9 Villages (gauns) of Kaski district, Nepal: 1. Khamgale Gaun, 2. Danda Gaun, 3. Pokhari Gaun, 4. Dihi Gaun, 5. Lamdanda Gaun, 6. Mauja Gaun, 7. Mohoriya Gaun, 8. Atighar/Manchhap and 9. Kura Gaun. These villages are situated north-east of Pokhara and one can reach there from Pokhara within 2/3 hours by walking and 30 to 50 minutes by driving.

Mauja Bijayapur Samaj UK – 16th Annual Get-together Party on Saturday, 21st June 2025

Updated: 30 March 2025 by Event Co-ordinator Indra Kumar Gurung

General

Mauja Bijayapur Samaj (MBS) UK Annual Get-together Party will be held on Saturday, 21st June 2025 from 11:00 AM to 08:30 PM at Samuel Cody School, Ballantyne Road, Farnborough, GU14 8SN.

Aim

The aim of the party is to organise an Annual Get-together for all members, families and our special guests of the day: Cheli-Betties.

Dress

Casual, but all are encouraged to wear Nepali cultural attire to reflect our cultural heritage.

Guests

Our special guests on the day are all our Cheli-Betties and their husbands. This is a special opportunity for all of us to come together in one place and share Congratulations and Condolences during our busy lives in the UK. If you have family members who are currently in the UK on a visit, please, notify us and feel free to bring them to join the party with us.

Party Strength

As food for the day will have to be ordered through a catering company, an accurate estimate for the total attendees is to be identified in order to save costs and avoid food waste on the day. Therefore, all members are kindly requested to help respective Gaun Representatives by notifying them of any Cheli–Betties’ attendance before Wednesday, 11th June 2025. Please spread the message via word of mouth that we have the Mauja Bijayapur Samaj UK Bhetghat Party on Saturday 21st June 2025 and all Cheli–Betties, New Members and Members are strongly encouraged to attend.

Catering license and PAT License

From this year, the venue management team has warned us that there might be random spot check for catering licence and PAT Testing licence for the PA system. Therefore, Catering Liaison Officer of the day, Mr. Dhan Gurung for catering and Advisor, Mr. Khum Gurung for PA system are kindly requested to select only those vendors or contractors who have an appropriate licence.

Party Fees

The cost will be £20.00 per adult, £10.00 per junior (Aged between 10 – 17 years old), £10 for senior citizens (Aged 70 to 80 years old) and free for the children below 10 years old or members above 80 years old and visitors from Nepal or abroad from Mauja Bijayapur Samaj UK. However, each member is kindly requested to contribute the usual Cheli–Betties fee of £40.00 and Annual Membership subscription of £10.00 per couple or £5.00 per single member. You must pay the contribution and membership charges whether you are present or absent on the party day.
